Project Overview: Master Bathroom Remodel, Plano, TX
The master bathroom is a long and narrow space with a large bathtub, but the client wanted a shower instead. Overall, she wanted to keep this space open but simple with the tile. One challenge to adding the shower was that the door from the master bedroom opened into the room by the tub.
Client’s Color Preference for the Master Bathroom Remodel
My client wanted a neutral color pallet of grays with an accent of blue-violet.
Designed for Future Rental | Master Bathroom Remodel
There were several areas of the master bathroom that we changed, but as this was a townhome and it would eventually be rented again, we wanted to keep our budget as low as we could. For this space, we used porcelain and quartz with a marble look, in a matte finish to keep it from being slippery when wet and worry-free from stains. We kept all the tile the same throughout for the flooring and shower area but selected a simple mosaic tile for the shower border to add some accent.
We painted the cabinets a darker gray while keeping the walls a lighter gray, and added the accent of blue-violet through wall decor and accessories. A floating bench was included in the bathroom as both a piece for function and modern design. We installed a barn door with glass, giving the room a modern look and allowing for more light to fill the room.
By replacing the swing door with a sliding door, the room now has more space and the glass allows for a view of the beautiful shower. This master bathroom is simple but sophisticated.
